Our stay at Sailor’s Rest was an absolute delight. Tucked away amidst refreshing greenery, it offers a serene environment that instantly calms the mind and soul. The surroundings are not just beautiful, but also well-preserved, giving a close-to-nature experience. The facilities provided were excellent — our 4 chalets are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed to ensure convenience throughout our stay. Whether relaxing in the room or exploring the grounds and cafe hunting around Janda Baik (Foodie), everything felt easy and enjoyable. But the real highlight was the team behind Sailor’s Rest. The staff were attentive, warm, and genuinely caring, always ready to assist with a smile. Their hospitality added a personal charm that made the whole experience extra special. The staff went above and beyond — even helping us light up the fire for our BBQ 🔥. One of the highlights was enjoying the tranquility of the clean, flowing river — so soothing and peaceful. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with great service, good facilities, and nature all around you, Sailor’s Rest is the place to be. 🌸🌿

About Sailor's Rest

A cool, fresh spot in the jungle, where you can hang out by the river and rejuvenate yourself in a pristine nature… all just an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur. This serene environment is Sailor’s Rest Campsite, 600 metres above sea level in the Titiwangsa mountains near Janda Baik.

Easily accessible and catering for groups and families alike, this site makes a great place to relax for a couple of days, completely immersing yourself in the sights, sound and scent of the native jungle. You can use it as a base for ATV adventure or hiking outings, or simply hang out quietly and soak up the atmosphere right there on site (or perhaps a bit of both…)

The riverside setting of this place means that it’s got a truly chilled-out vibe and attracts lots of wildlife to look out for. It also means you’ll have somewhere handy to cool off after a day of activity. The river is shallow enough for paddling and gentle swims, and if you want to explore further you can sign up for tubing activities with nearby providers.

The site has been set up to preserve the natural spirit of the surroundings, but with enough facilities and amenities to make sure you’ll be safe and comfortable. There are electric connections and lights all around the site, and you’ll have access to toilets, showers, wifi and a hot and cold water dispenser. Breakfast is available, and you’re welcome to bring along a barbecue to cook dinner on. There’s also a communal fireplace and an open-air cinema area that guests can use.

1. No hen/stag parties permitted.
2. No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.
3. Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.
4. Swimming in the ponds is not allowed.
5. The charging of electric vehicles is not permitted on site.

Do's
1. If reception is closed on arrival: please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation or at the whiteboard at the reception.
2. Check-in time: After 12pm
3. Check-out time: Before 12pm (Can stay up to 5pm if no booking on check out day)
4. Cooking is allowed, but environmental cleanliness is needed before, during and after cooking activities
5. Fishing on the ponds is allowed on a catch and release basis. Please bring your own fishing rods

Amendments, Cancellation and Refund Policies

• No refunds within 5 days of arrival date. Amendments can be made up until 2 days of arrival.
• No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
• The site is not liable for any refund in the event of force majeure.
• If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please give as much notice as possible so that someone else has the chance to book. You may wish to buy holiday insurance for cancellations and for your property/injury whilst away.

Been there twice with my family. Good view, good experience, the staff is very friendly! The river view is awesome and kids-friendly. However, the maintenance of the facilities need to be improved. But overall is satisfying 👍

First time here and it was exactly what I needed. Sailor’s Rest offers just the right balance for anyone (kids friendly!) looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The space is big, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. There’s a clean, private river area that’s perfect for relaxing without any distractions. I stayed in a tent right by the river, best decision ever. Woke up to the sound of flowing water and the cool morning breeze. It was so calming and refreshing. Facilities were decent and well-maintained, especially the toilets (which is always a concern when staying outdoors). Nothing over the top, but the whole vibe of the place just felt right. Everything felt thoughtfully done to truly unwind. There’s also a BBQ area and you can request a bonfire, which added a nice touch to the whole experience. Spent 2 days and 1 night here and left feeling completely recharged. Will definitely come back!

We stayed at the boathouse. Decent breakfast included. Shallow rivers is safe and suitable for kids. Overall the compound/site is clean, just the boathouse they need to pay extra attention in repairing and cleaning it. There’s some odd smell when we first entered the boathouse. Boathouse interior was quirky but acceptable. Some leaking issues from the ceiling when it rained while we were there. Broken steps towards the rooftop looked like it has been there for quite a while. Since the interior flooring is carpeted, the management need to pay extra attention in cleaning them — which they didn’t do well in this. Hopefully the management/caretaker could fix those issues and thoroughly clean the boathouse. Otherwise it’s a great place to stay at, and overall a good deal.
