Had such a lovely time at this campsite with my partner. The space was really nice and comfortable, and the scenery was just beautiful! Beach front view and Calm River view at the back — super relaxing and peaceful. Everything was also very clean and well taken care of, which made the stay even better. You can tell they really put effort into maintaining the place. They also have a little Warung there, and the burger and pasta are DELISH! We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely come back again 🤍

The campsite is nestled between the sea and the river, making it a truly idyllic spot. You can enjoy both sunrise and sunset, and even kayak through the mangroves. The campsite offers excellent services and amenities, including delicious food, baked goods, board games, kayaking, and more. It's designed for relaxation and a worry-free stay. The passion of the team that manages it is remarkable. Thank you so much; you made my time in Cherating unforgettable. It's the best campsite I've ever visited! ❤️🙌🏾

Slow mornings, windy nights, good vibes ✨🏕️ Really loved our stay at Payung Getaway Campsite. Suasana sini tenang, udara fresh, pantai bersih and the night full moon view was just beautiful. Tempat ni is well maintained by Nat dan Ainon until so clean & comfy, memang nice for a short healing trip with friends/family 🤍 Now they even have cafe at the campsite open in the morning and closed at 6pm. Definitely one of those places that makes you want to stay a little longer and come back again every year ❤️

Such a wonderful campsite! Beach in the front, river at the back. Beach is safe for kids, though waves can be a bit big. Great venue for body boarding and to learn to surf! Definitely will come back again for another family camping!

Our stay at Payung Getaway Campsite was a truly enjoyable experience, especially for families. The campsite is family-friendly, with a beautiful beach, fine, soft sand—perfect for both kids and adults to relax and play. One thing we really appreciated was the safety of the campsite. It’s a gated campsite, and campers are given a passcode to access the gate, which adds an extra layer of security and peace of mind. The camp operators were warm, accommodating, and easy to approach, which made our stay even more pleasant. There’s also a small café on-site offering freshly baked bread, sourdough, ice cream, ice cubes, and a variety of drinks—very convenient for quick snacks and refreshments. One small area for improvement would be the space in Lot 4 and 5. It felt a bit cramped for our group of six tents (six families). That said, it might have been partly due to us not informing the camp operators in advance about our tent sizes (around 4–5 x 8), so better coordination beforehand could help future campers avoid this issue. Toilets are ok, but can be improved. The only downside for us was the distance from Kuala Lumpur—it’s about a 4-hour drive. The return trip was quite exhausting, especially with heavy traffic around Gombak, which made the journey back a bit challenging. Overall, it was a wonderful getaway. The kids—and the kids at heart—had an amazing time, and it’s definitely a place we would consider visiting again.
