An invitation to ‘buka puasa’ or breaking of fast to this lovely well preserved Malay style dwellings and restaurant. Located just outside Janda Baik village it’s about 1 hour and a bit out of Kuala Lumpur. We left the Karak Highway after the tunnel at Genting Sempah and it was a great drive up the hills to this authentic restaurant serving Malay Kampong style cooking. The pictures I attach describe it best! Those high stilted Malay Village houses originated from Trengganu and were transferred here lock stock and barrel. Amazing work done to restore and keep the structures in good order as well. It’s nice and cool up in the hills and with jungle surrounding the areas the views and character of Janda Baik is worth exploring. A must visit and once Ramadan is over they will open for morning breakfast as well. A real gem in the Jungles of Pahang.❤️

Came here for lunch. Beautiful scenery with delicious food. Food: We ordered a few of their lunch sets and everything was great. I especially love the Asam Pedas and Daging Salai Masak Lemak. The tempoyak was also a favorite with my group. The flavour of each food were well seasoned. The rice was surprisingly very light. Did not make you feel bloated despite having seconds 🩷 And the Sago Bunga Telang is probably the best sago I've had in a while. Very soft, not too sweet, and the grains aren't clumped together. Service: The staff was welcoming and explained the menu thoroughly. Reservation wise, we booked a table 2 hrs before arriving and it was confirmed. But they seemed a little confused when we asked for our reservation. And our table was only ready 5 mins+ past our reservation time. Overall, I would definitely come here again. The food is great and really makes you feel like you're back in your kampung.

The ambience was soo nice, came for my mum birthday lunch and the food was good! Easy system to book online beforehand and it takes less time to wait for the food, the route coming in is quite confusing maybe can add more signage at the entrance. Overall experience was good would come again!

Place : the best (got old malay medieval building) best for photos session. Food option : ok Food taste : normal (don't expect much) Location : bit hidden with difficulty to access. (management should improve on signage) Staff service : earlier when we arrive the service bit slow n confusing. But after some complaints they accept it with open heart and improve drastically. (Management should focus on staff respond time when new customer enter ur premises). Actually ur staff are friendly but when customer arrive no body attending for about 15 minutes. Vibe : the best Price : bit pricey but worth it when considering the classic vibe they have. This place got a very nice malay classic set-up. It feel like traveling back to medieval era. View quite nice. Food got option based on Malaysia region (ex: set utara, set timur, set selatan) taste consider ok. Not too special but not less also. Got free ulam2. Kudos on that. Overall, recommended for those who looking for classic vibe eateries. Might come back. U all akan rasa mcm makan dlm istana zaman silam.
