Ecotree Camp, Semungkis

Kompartmen 75 & 76, Hutan Simpan, Jln Sg Semungkis, 43100 Hulu Langat, Selangor, Malaysia

The Journey & Location The drive in is a bit off-road and bumpy, but it completely adds to the adventure! Our emas7 handled it without any problems. Once you arrive, you are immediately greeted by lush, beautiful nature and a serene environment. The Campsite & Service We had a fantastic lot right by the river. The staff here are incredibly attentive and helpful—they even took the time to clear our lot by sweeping away dead leaves before we set up. Since there were fewer than 5 campers during our stay, it was wonderfully quiet, peaceful, and felt very safe. Nature & Vibe The river is absolutely beautiful and teeming with little shrimps and fish. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the flowing river was the highlight of the trip. Note that there is zero telco coverage, making it the perfect place to truly disconnect. Facilities & Tips for Future Campers Power & Lighting: Generators are switched on at night. It can get quite dark, so definitely bring your own lights. However, a huge shoutout to the kind staff who lent us several camp lights! Toilets: There are 8 toilet booths with gravel flooring. They are okay, and I observed the campsite is actively trying to improve the drainage. Sinks (Area for Improvement): We had a sink nearby which was convenient. However, I did notice that sinks at some of the other lots had broken drainage pipes, causing water to drain directly onto the ground and attract flies. Hopefully, this gets fixed soon. Conclusion Overall, this was an excellent experience for us new campers. We absolutely loved it and would love to come back!

Had a great 3 days 2 nights at Ecotree Camp @ Semungkis. This was my first visit. My friends brought me here since it was their second time. The campsite is amazing, surrounded by trees and running water. Surprisingly, there were very few mosquitoes and flies. I would describe it as a semi wild camping experience. Do not expect much from the facilities. The campsite is powered by a generator. There is no mobile signal or internet access during the day. From 7pm to 7am, you can connect to their Starlink WiFi. It was actually nice to take a break from the phone and be fully present with nature. The weather was really good. It gets cool in the evening, and it is safe enough for kids to play in the water. Since this is a semi wild site, I suggest bringing a foldable plastic bucket and some tools to help with water collection. Do not expect toilet paper or a water heater. I had a comfortable sleep. Took cold showers to stay fresh and we cooked our own food. One of the staff, Farid, was very helpful and kind. Found out he is a King Scout. Watched him make tea over firewood and toast bread using his own gear. It was a great experience. If you enjoy nature and a more rugged style of camping, this place is worth checking out. I would come back again.

Semi wild camping experience. Kids & family friendly campsite with complete amenities. WiFi, Lights & power supply available from 7pm - 7am. Your kids may participate in the jungle survival class (If the slots available). The only setback of its only certain mobiles network coverage available (Digi / Celcom) made it difficult to communicate in case of emergency. Please prepare cash to buy from uncle ice cream 😁

Bikepacked here from sungai Tekala, Semenyih. Not much mosquito surprisingly. Semi wild surrounded by forest. No cell coverage but that's the point to get away from all that nonsense

The deepest campsite along the Sungai Semungkis. River is calm and clean during our visit, and some obstacle course for kids. Facilities with limited time starlink wifi, toilet and bidet, no shower.
